JPEGS on a laptop
why do jpegs look so crap on my laptop, and much better on a desktop?

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.If you're lucky and have quite a good laptop monitor (capable of, say, 1280x960 resolution or preferably 1600x1200) and at least 16-bit colour depth, then the problem may just be down to poor monitor calibration. It would help if you could more accurately describe the way in which your JPEGs look worse on your laptop than on your desktop monitor. For example, they are too dark, there aren't enough colours, everything looks kind of purple...
