i bought a new television with built in freeveiw as we are now digital i have an outside ariel and thiught i would get all freeveiw channels,only getting a select few why not them all?♥♥♥

It depends on the gain (performance) and if the antenna is optimised for a particular transmitter 'group'. This would mean you will not receive much but the strongest packets (multiplexes)
If you post your main postcode here, I will calculate the degrees bearing to the best transmitter in your area and what type of antenna is required, and the real channel numbers for the multiplexes. Al

It'll also depend on the main transmitter - we don't have freeview at all here but when we do got it we'll only get 15 extra channels due to the main transmitter needing to be upgraded.

Yes .. Main and even local booster transmitters may need extra time to replace analogue equipment with digital. The real channels are changing on many transmitters too, so that may mean some people changing from an older 'grouped' antenna to a wideband. You can only tell a grouped antenna by a coloured cap in the end by connection. However after a few years they all look same.

When analogue closes completely, each channel will allow up to around 10 digital channels in one multiplex (packet) in their place.What the broadcasters 'actually' will do depends on licensing and what money they need to make.

Hi again .. You are really in the outback there ..I thought that was Bridgend in S Wales when it first came up!
Very limited channel packets available at the moment ...
Bellanoch Transmitter 3 miles away: C45,C42,C49 (Group B Antenna) Vertical polarisation (element VERTICAL not flat)
228 degrees bearing to transmitter
Extra hi-gain antenna needed as transmission only 10w.
Then youbshould get all the channels listed on the link below.

Analogue was probably stronger .. digital probably on reduced power at the moment until switch off totally of analogue.
If you get those multiplexes (and the channels inside them) then ok. But for now, you should be using a vertical decent-gain antenna vertical polarised .. and pointed accurately.
There is another transmitter at Torosay ..27miles .. 341 degrees (vertical) but again low power transmissions.
