Free antivirus for Win2000?

Can anyone recommend a free antivirus checker for Windows 2000? I currently use AVG but it says it will not work after December 2010 unless I upgrade, which I don't plan on doing.

Microsoft Security Essentials only works with XP and later.

I could google it but if anyone has any recommendations, it would save me some time thanks.

Hi is there a reason you don't want to upgrade your AVG. I upgraded mine to the new 2011 version and it still works fine and is still free. I used to pay for norton and had lots of problems with it but AVG has been great.

I agree with Theshedman. I had the same problem.
I then upgraded the free 2011 and it works fine.

Yes it said it wouldn't work with windows 2000 and I should either upgrade my operating system or buy a different AVG product. Neither of which I was prepared to do.

Sorry didn't realise it wouldn't work on windows 2000.
