cannot get web page to close down

when i try to close a window it comes up internet has stopped working or a malicious add on or malfunciting caused this page to close down i therefore have to keep mutiple windows open at a time what can i do to resolve this problem im on windows7

PS: Before someone else states it, I'll point out that most people around here wouldn't touch Microsoft's Internet Explorer with the proverbial bargepole. The majority of us use Firefox (which is far better):
