I have got a WD passport external hard drive and I am trying to connect it to my PS3. It is currently in the NTFS format but it needs to be in FAT32.. However I can only seem to find an exFAT option to format it to.
I have tried to enter this command in the command prompt, format /FS:FAT32 F:, (F being the hard drive) but it didn't work.
Click start > run, type in cmd and then press CTRL + ALT + enter and it will start the command prompt in elevated mode (you may need to enter a password)
Then the DOS format will work. (though the software I linked to will also do the job)
Its 500GB, It brought up an error when i tried it, 'Access denied as you do not have sufficient privileges, you have to envoke this utility running in elavated mode' :S
Click start > run, type in cmd and then press CTRL + ALT + enter and it will start the command prompt in elevated mode (you may need to enter a password)

Sorry, late answer. Are you running command prompt as an Administrator? If not, you have to right click the cmd and choose "Run as administrator". By default, it doesn't run like that.
the software probably didn't work for the same reason as the DOS format originally, it probably needed to be run as an administrator for it to be able to format a drive.
