Aaahhh. Used to be so good with Excel and it's all gone from my mind.

Have set up a spreadsheet to compare prices from two suppliers. I want to include two sums but can't work out which functions to use. One sum is to work out the difference in pounds between the two prices and the next is to work out the difference as a percentage. I know this is probably very basic but I'm not having a good day so be nice to me.

divide one by the other and format the cell to be a percentage.
oppps, ignore me, I miss read the question.
Right, try again :)

The following will tell you the percentage difference between a1 and b1, again you have to format the cell as a percentage

=(a1-b1)/ABS(b1)

That's done it! Thanks Chuck. Any idea on the other sum I need? So it works out the difference as a currency?
