What good will service pack 1 do?

I have just been offered the update for windows 7 pro,but did not get any info about what it will do.Can anyone put some light on this please?

Had it for a couple of weeks - seems to be fairly stable:

Yeah, I got it last Thursday. Can't say I've noticed any differences - good, or bad. I suggest you go for it.

Got it now,as you say rojash,I cannot see a difference,but hey it may come in useful one day and at least this PC is still working(that was my main fear)

Service packs dont usually "come in useful".

All they normally are is a collection of all the previous fixes for Windows gathered into one pack (with maybe a few new fixes added).

Sometimes there is new function, but often very minor, and in the case of W7 SP1 there is almost no new function worth speaking of.

Good idea to always install a Windows service pack though.

I consider myself told off VHG sorry :-(
At least I feel my poor old PC is right up to date(probably the only thing in this house that is!)
