I have just signed up for pay pal and have verifed my deposit amounts for direct debit. My pay pal balance is �0.00. My question is do I need money in my pay pal balance to use pay pal? Or can I just send it from direct from my bank account which has money in?

You can send money directly from the account which you used to sign up with. You don't need to keep a balance in your Paypal account.

my pay pal has been counting down from �500, theoretical, as i have paid no money into it, when it gets to zero, will i need to pay anything in before i can use it anymore Lillabet?

If you register a debit or credit card with paypal and try to send someone money while your paypal balance is zero it'll just pull that money from your bank to paypal to cover the payment, and forward it onto whoever you're sending it to.
