no sound windows 7 on laptop

I recently replaced Vista with Windows 7 on my laptop and have no sound. I need help finding the cause please I have Acer Aspire 7720 Is there something I should have downloaded/installed? everything else seems to be working OK Thanks for any advice

Check all your drivers here:

Selecting an operating system version doesn't seem to have any effect.
What's more the different versions don't seem to be sorted into any particular order, so you don't know which is which until you click download.

Once you click download, you'll see the name of the file. There don't seem to be any Win7 specific drivers, but the Vista ones should work OK.

If you have installed 32bit Win7, you need the Vista x86 drivers, otherwise, the Vista64 drivers.
Presumably you have checked sound settings in Control Panel, and the mixer panel stuff?

thanks rojash have windows7 64bit have downloaded vista64 drivers but having difficulty installing not sure what I'm doing wrong? As you say no ref Windows7 I can see

AlBags I think i have checked setting in control panel correctly it says its working OK but no luck so far thanks
