Printer on permenant pause, AAAAARRRRRGGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!

Hi guys,

Ok, I've tried several unsucessful times to right click on computer image and press restart to no effect. It was getting slower and slower to print docs over the weeks now its stuck on pause and i can't get it going!!! turned it on/off so many times, cnacelled jobs and pe-printed them but even the icon for the docs look different now, no longer showing a W for word.

Any ideas most appreciated! x

I'm no expert, but if it was mine I would unplug it so the computer goes BONG BONG (technical term) and then unplug the power etc. Then plug it back in. Hopefully it will reset itself and not be on pause. Or it may be dead- it does sound like you need a new one...

what scarlett said..... that's what mine tells me to do when it's playing up, to clear anything which is stuck in its memory.

I had to do the same scarlett it was as if it was in a time warp, I left the whole lot unplugged for 15 minutes or so before reconnecting it. Have you had the printer a long time?

I guess so, 3-4years... HP printer/scanner/copier... pretty sure the guarentee has expired. Tried the above but nothing happening, still paused. I also unplugged everything. My concern is the word docs don't look the same in the printer box when you see what's printing... may have to try take it to a computer shop for tinkering... and they'll probs charge a bomb! Thanks anyway guys... x

Sorry that didn't work jeanette, have you got manual or booklet with the printer that shows you the trouble shooting problems?

Jeanette, HP make thousands of different models so it might help if you let us know the printer model number as anyone with a similar model is in a better position to help you.
