just put ping on mine and the missus phones and in may she's off to tenerife for a week and i thought installing ping would be great as she wouldn't run a bill up by texting. is ping chat still free if she's in tenerife and i'm in u.k.

It requires a data connection, if this happens to be wifi it will be free (though they may have to pay to use the wifi first) but if they are going to be using the mobile data networks there will be a charge. Charges for mobile data use while aboard can be found.......

There is also an EU imposed upper limit on data charges while roaming now of €50 (approx £40) so unless you pre arrange with the provider before going the data will be cut off once a charge of about £40 is incurred (the exact amount varies depending on which company, but they are all within a few quid of £40)
