Design a website

I would like to design a professional looking website for free. I took a very short course in computer programming so have some idea of HTML but can't find a free website builder. Any suggestions on where I can download software to aid me.

go to www.freewebs.com who provide templates for very professional looking sites, alternatively use Microsoft Publisher and then download a program called FTPLite which will allow you to upload to the net.

I heartily recommend Nvu - http://www.nvu.com/ - it's basically an open-source WYSIWYG alternative to DreamWeaver or FrontPage...

Of course, if you know HTML, there's no reason for you not just to use NotePad.
