I live in one of the last areas yet to switch over to digital. My fairly new TV provides both analogue and/or digital. At present I like reading the BBC Ceefax pages and will very much miss this when analogue is no longer available. The alternative seems to be having to read text on one half of the digital screen whilst at the same time tolerating the usual TV activities on the other half. What if anything is the alternative? Short of being driven potty by it, I've prepared a shield to hang over the half screen that I don't want to see, but I'm seriously thinking I'll manage without TV when the time comes. What do others feel about this and how do you cope with it?

Hi Coldicote, I read all the text stuff (red button) on the digital bbc news channel. it does as you say leave half the screen as per normal. I cope by turning the volume off, that seems to be enough for me. It's not so bad, and you may see the odd thing on the news that grabs your attention, so give it a try, you may like it!

Thanks Dagman, you give me hope that I might get used to it. I only wish they'll find a way of continuing whole text pages. I have a sheet of thick plastic table cloth at the ready that I can use to cover half the screen.
