What's Dubai like for shopping - is it cheaper than Europe/USA ?

depends what you want. Its not cheap, but then the US isn't as cheap as it was.

The US is cheaper for clothes. Jewellery was OK last time I looked but that was a long time ago. I bought a diamond ring home from Dubai that would have cost a lot more here. Don`t forget you`re only allowed to bring in £390 worth of goods.

You will find that buying your guthra, & abaya is rather expensive but good value & well made.

Clothes and kids clothes can be quite expensive, yes, better in the US although with some things, not as big a difference as there used to be between US and the UK. The gold is not the bargain it was 30 years ago when I got mine.

Only if you forget to add in all the extra taxes that you will need to pay, when you try to bring it all back through Customs !
