Lets just say I came to London in the swinging sixties. I married a London musician who was working in Manchester. I am in the fashion trade so London has always been a great place to be. I went to school in Urmston when Urmston Grammar was a co-ed school. I'm semi retired now but still working in fashion.
Discarded the musician eventually and now spend lots of time travelling. In between popping up to Irlam to visit mum I pop to the States, Ecuador, Nepal, Borneo - anywhere that takes my fancy really. Still got strong ties to Irlam though - was there last month trying out the lunch at the newly refurbished Nags Head but think I prefer the lunches at the Golf Club.
I'm amazed! Fantastic photos. Loads of memories. Mum lives on The De Traffords now - I grew up on Siver St. Dad worked at the steelworks. I played on the farms as a kid. Was at the junior school from about 1949 - 1955 so remember lots from the old photos.
It's all horrible.
No doubt I'll be banned for this - but
mr knowall did ask: unless you like immigrants, homosexuals, and/or students - forget it.
That's my opinion - if anybody thinks differently that's up to them, but don't bother bad-mouthing me for my opinions.
