european capital not situated on a river?

It's Madrid.

I think it might be Lisbon - I can't see any river or waterway there in my atlas. Or possibly Brussels, which only has a canal going through it.

Madrid has Rio Manzanares running north to south.

Brussels is on the Senne
Copenhagen, my original suggestion, has a river


I'm wondering if it's the Vatican - OK Rome is on a river, but the Vatican isn't AFAIK.

Tut, tut. Silly me! It's Valetta, capital of Malta. Malta is unique in being the only country in Europe which has no river systems
