Does anyone know a B & B near the Ardrossan ferry terminal? I've Googled and found 2 but they don't look very close. We will be on foot pulling 2 suitcases so the nearer the better.
Thanks in advance.

Could you not stay a little further out but near the train line as the station at the ferry port is only a couple of hundred yards away. Don't know of any places off-hand I'm afraid as we always drive.

I could I suppose, but after travelling 1/2 a day and 4 trains later, I fancied just getting up on the morning and walking to the ferry not having to catch another train.
Thanks for the suggestion though
I see your point, problem is that the port area of Ardrossan is very 'industrial' and quite shabby, hence my suggestion.
The closest place I can find, which definitely does B&B, is 1.5miles from the ferry:

However, the Ayrshire & Arran Tourist Board might be able to suggest something closer:

Otherwise, I suggest ringing round the pubs in Ardrossan. They might do B&B or know of somewhere local which does. (Pubs often have the details of local B&Bs pinned up by their phone).

These pubs are all within easy walking distance of the ferry:
Harbour Inn, Harbour Street, 01294 465675
Lord Carson's, Princes St, 01294 605565
Character's Bar, Glasgow St, 01294 465910
Castlehill Vaults, Princes Place, 01294 462398
Charlie's Bar, Glasgow St, 01294 465910

These two are a bit further away but you could probably still walk it:
The Red Herring, Young St, 01294 462354
The Tap Shop, Young St, 01294 462354

Thank you Chris I have plenty to go at there. I don't know how you do it, you seem to be able to get everyone sorted.
I'll be on the phone tomorrow and hopefully get booked. It's only for one night so we aren't bothered about it being the Ritz.
I called one advervised on the net and listed on BT but was told by a very nice old lady thay it was no longer a B & B and she had been reassigned the old number !!!

Thanks again. Also thanks again Fitzer, for your suggestion
