Things to do/places to go near Pickering, N.Yorks

I'm off there with my dog later this summer for 5 days.

I'm planning to go to Goathland and Robin Hood Bay. I've been to Whitby, so not overly bothered about going back there.

Does anyone have any suggestions please of places to visit or things to do?

Yes york is a lovely place to visit you want a full day to see every thing musems are very good, and good shopping ,nice places to eat and lovely walk around the castle wall, and also have you been on steam train from pickering to gothland it goes through lovely countryside

Yes, I've been to York before - it's really nice. Mind you, I don't fancy taking my dog there, though and then having to leave her tied up somewhere :o(
