New York On A Budget
5 Answers
Hi there looking to go to New York this year - not sure what time of the year, it doesnt really matter when tbh. Although we dont have a big budget so need cheap flights and a reasonable hotel/b&b type place to stay NO HOSTELS though lol. Anyone know any secrets to make this an affordable place to go for 4 days? Cheapest I have found so far for two people was 1000 - surely it could be cheaper than that? Thanks guys

Grand receiption area, thought rooms not great, but you won't be in them long anyway. Makes travel from JFK airport very easy by catching tube for approx 2$ each.

I agree with the Pennsylvania as a cheap hotel. There are better hotels, but if it's budget you want then this is the place.

Have a trawl through all the airlines, but don't forget to look for flights to Newark, which is just across the river from New York. I have flown Continental to Newark and BA to JFK. You may be able to get a bargain.

weve just got back from new york and stayed at hotel clarion booked through hotels .com nothing spectacular but nice rooms comfy bed coffee maker hairdryer flat screen tv air conditioning decent bathroom (room 603) everything is close by, delis , 24 hr shop subway two mins away its on park avenue south near to 29th east , some reviews say reception are not friendly and try to over charge but they were friendly to us and sorted out taxi when we were leaving was about 70 pounds per night that was over new year so should be cheaper at other times if you want anymore info email us [email protected]
Am thinking of going to New York too considering staying in the New Yorker hotel, location sounds pretty good various reviews google it their website also tells you how many blocks you are away from various tourist attractions etc
