Take some anti bacterial gel (from the chemists) and clean your hands after you have handled any money. The smaller denomination notes are filthy and covered in germs, they are the source of many tummy upsets.
Obviously, drink only bottle water.
Don't forget your snorkel, the Red Sea is amazing.

If you are travelling to Egypt , make sure your tetanus and polio immunisations are up to date [every 10 years] and sometimes a typhoid vaccination is also needed.
Vaccination against Heptatis A is also recommended.
Contact your GP or Practice Nurse for the latest information and they should be able to do the shots too.

i got jabs as instructed by practice nurse. Cannot remember exact cost - similar to prescription charges. Lots of strange diseases seem to be around these days that had not been around for a long time. This is due to people coming in from foreign countries that have not had jabs. In this I include people from UK going off on holiday and not having the jabs that they have been advised to have. I would not take any chances. Sharm is fabulous. Worth a visit to Cairo if you get a chance and also we climbed Mount Sinai.
