We are planning to spend Xmas in Gosau near Salzburg in the mountains,Austria.Does anyone know if we will definately have snow at this time of the year.

I think probably God would be the most appropriate individual to ask. Have a crack at it tomorrow morning in church.

Very funny!!
I mean is it usual at that time of the year,I have checked the weather in Austria and there are many places with plenty of snow already.

Just thought someone may have been and can tell me a bit more

Shouldn't be a problem. Snow in that area normally starts around Nov and carries on to at least Feb if not March. Travelling is no problem as the authorities know they are going to get the snow and are ready for it! I used to drive my truck to Austria and only once had to wait for a snowplough on a main road...and he came along within 20 minutes! I remember in Vienna once it was headline news in the paper that the daytime temperature had got about 0C for the first time in living memory in January!

So pleased to hear there will be snow.We are all going there to spend Xmas and would be very disappointed if there wasn't any.
