this is a journey I am not looking forward to,I may have asked a long while ago but now we are going go.
I believe the nearest airport is Brest and our friends will collect us from there or anywhere within a 50 mile radius.
Budget airlines you say, well we have never travelled with them for 3 reasons :-
1. hubby is registered blnd and though he can walk short distances and does not use a wheelchair the thought of having to rush to get a seat etc when our pace is dead slow isnt really an option.
2. I understand if you dont check in correctly on line you face an £80 fine, sure as eggs this will happen to me.
3. He is a diabetic and carries insulin [ we can cope with this] and lots of meds as well as a suitcase for clothes., sheduled flights are more generous with our luggage weight.
Driving to France for me at 70+ and although I am very fit & active this not an option anymore.
We have put these nice people off for over 4 years and we really must make the effort this year in October.
help appreciated.

thanks for the help, I did post ananswer yesterday, but it seems to be lost !
Probably an able bodied person would be okay with this but I have to manage both suitcases plus have hubby holding on my shoulder to guide him, add this up with changing platforms [up and down stairs] and the fact my lingo skills are zilch , it just wouldnt be practicle, but I appreciate your effort on my behalf, thanks.
