am flying to bangkok soon..can anyone give me some names of decent hotels please. also i want to go to some of the islands.. can anyone advise on which ones to visit.. away from the partying. am looking for nice hotels, beaches etc. thank you

Ko Phang Nang is beautiful as is Koh Tao (ecspecially if you like to dive) and as long as your on the right beach is away from the partying. Stay away from Phuket! Enjoy- it is a beautiful country with wonderful people

Consider Koh Chang off the Eastern coast near Cambodia too...

Koh Samui is good choice because it is much quieter compare to Phuket, and it is prettier too.
