This question relates to online check-in and self-printed boarding passes. I am aware that currently Ryanair tear off the bottom strip from the boarding pass and keep it. Because it is a while since I have flown with easijet, my question is do they do anything similar - I see no evidence of this on their site or on the boarding pass itself and therefore assume you simply show the pass and retain the whole of it throughout. Am I correct ?

If you print off the boarding pass yourself at home on an A4 piece of paper there is no strip to tear off so you would keep it throughout.

Both EJ and Ryanair have similar procedures. as you correctly point out, Ryanair b/cs have a "tear off" portion identified at the bottom, which they detach (in my experience). EJ have a similar area, although it is not marked as such. It is just a duplicated bar code and other flight and passenger specific details, which sometimes get torn off by them, and sometimes not.

In case anyone is watching for the outcome, I apologise for forgetting to update. On two flights with easyjet no-one had any part of self-printed boarding passes torn off but those who appeared to have checked in at the airport (they had conventiuonal two part card boarding passes) had theirs separated and one part retained.
