Getting To Bath Hospital

I have an appointment for a scan at The Bath Hospital at the end of the month at 09.45. I live near Devizes. I tried to do a test drive this morning and it was impossible and horrific. My satnav took me up some very narrow streets in Bsth and when I got to the hospital there was nowhere to park and the signs were poor and I never found the x ray department. So I came home. If I go by train from Chippenham are there always taxis at Bath station? Any other suggestions would be appreciated. I’m dreading the journey! Bramley.

sorry Odd DOWN!
Whenever we go to Bath we use the Park & Ride - a good service from Lansdown. I don't know where the hospital is but there are usually good bus sevices to hospitals from town centres.
I would stay in a Travelodge or similar the night before, anything to avoid that sort of stress
The 0839 train from Chippenham to Bath Spa arrives at 0853. The return fare is £7.10. (If you're prepared to cut it fine, the 0916 service arrives at 0930, allowing you to pay the Off-Peak return fare of £6.00). Those fares drop to £4.70 and £3.95 respectively if you've got a Senior Railcard.

There's a busy taxi rank at the front of the station. Based upon my own experience of running a rail station you'll probably not have to wait for a taxi at that time of day as the school run contract cabs should have finished their work by then.

If you'd rather pre-book a cab phone Abbey Taxis on 01225 444 444 or Bath Spa Taxis on 01225 313 131 .
