I'd love to go to America but my husband hates flying. I know that there are full cruises available, but want a driving holiday - is it possible to get a ferry from the UK to America? I have looked on the web and haven't got anywhere.

There are no ro-ro ferries that take cars.

Freighters will definitely take your car as cargo (craned on, possibly in a container) and cruise ships or other passenger liners MAY. (They did 30-40 years ago but may no longer). It won't be cheap

You'd be better off renting a car there.

Ooops! I was about to say that there's another site here.
Note what they say about expense. Getting to the US, you'd only be a few hours on a plane, but you could be several days on a ship at the equivalent rate of full board in a hotel.
