has anyone of the seasoned travellers on here booked their holiday airport transfers ( the overseas end) online ?

I'm looking to book the hotel through Thomson, arrange flights and transfers myself (for next Aug) and reckon I can save 300+, which is about 12%, and will pay for a few meals etc.

is it worth the hassle ?
anyone done this, and had good bad experiences ?

Done this several times, In Majorca, Prague and Budapest - never had a problem.

Just Google airport transfer for whichever airport you arrive at.
My wife and I do this regularly - no problem. But this doesn't work for all destinations. E.g., for the Caribbean, there's simply no cheap way of doing it yourself, and a package deal will give the lowest price. For elsewhere, do a thorough search for a package deal anyway, as you just might just come across a special offer that's cheaper than a DIY
