EnteI read on an earlier post about Niagra and the Maid of the Mist etc. we are going in a months time on a fly drive, stopping off at Niagra overnight. what i'd like to know are a three things if someone can help. Firstly are there some reasonable deals for motels/hotels if we just roll up and book on the day or is it about the same price if I pre-book on the net now?
Secondly, we'll probably make our way up to Montreal, Ottawa maybe get as far as Quebec is there any tips for things to see along the way, Thirdly is there an abundance of motels along the highways as in the states so we will have no problems staying somewhere overnight or is it wise to book ahead

you can never tell about prices. If someone has an empty room they may be prepared to discount it for you on the day; if they haven't, they won't. If nobody has any rooms at all then you may have to devote a lot of your day to finding one. Why don't you go on to Trip Advisor and run a few tests, hunting for rooms on the days you plan to be there and see if they're sold out?

20 years since I've been along the St Lawrence - I had no trouble finding motel rooms then but I don't know the current position.
Hi, You will find it advisable to book in advance, cost wise also availability wise, Done Toronto to Montreal,Ottowa and Quebec there is not an abundance of Motels on the Highway and it would be a case of get off of the highway and look in the small towns en route. The places you intend to visit are lovely and well worth the long drive. Hope your French is good. The driving in Montreal is similar to Paris so be prepared. ENJOY.I am sure you will have a good time.
