Hotels for Christmas

Looking to go away for Christmas -want a country hotel, midnight mass, carols, log fires ...the works......any recommendations please. Possibly Cotswolds or Devon area?

The Suffolk coast around the village of Dunwich is delightful, with The Ship getting generally good reviews:

However, like all hotels at Christmas, it's far from cheap. Quote:
"Christmas on the coast A truly relaxing three day break, arriving on Christmas Eve and includes evening meals, Christmas Lunch and of course breakfast everyday Good rooms £650.00 Best rooms £695.00 Rate is based on two people sharing a double room, supplements apply".
Or, if you're really 'pushing the boat out', the superb Hintlesham Hall (just down the road from me) is worth considering:
