Letter post to the USA

Can any of you knowledgable guys please tell me how long it takes for a letter posted in the UK to reach its destination in Las Vegas?

By airmail, a letter weighing 100g would take from 5 days (according to the Royal Mail website). If you want to check anything yourself, here is the link.

ps, you just use the Country it is going to, you don't have to do it by individual State.

Thanks, TW, I should perhaps have worded my question somewhat differently. What I would like to know is, how long in practice does it actually take for a standard letter to get to the USA. The Royal Mail comment "from 5 days" isn't particularly helpful as it is obviously open-ended. Does it take 5, 10, 15 ... days?
Does anyone out there have actual personal experience?

I sell worldwide on ebay and when RM say 'from' 5 days, they are just covering themselves in case there are delays at the other end. I would take it that it 'takes' 5 days. Trust Royal Mail, they do a great job. I have sent printed papers to Las Vegas and they arrived within one week and the customer was very happy with the service. Make sure you always put the senders name and address on your package in case of non-delivery.

I've always found hat airmail to and from the USA takes 3 to 5 days.

up until recently my daughter was living in Chicago. Post could on occasion be very quick - only a couple of days from London!

The official answer is 5-7 days, as it is a worldwide (not European) destination. Though obviously each destination country is different, and also Royal Mail have no control over the item once it has left these shores! Having said that, I usually find that mail to the States is delivered in 5 days.
