Cheapest seems to be Norwegian Air Shuttle from Gatwick - almost half the price of anyone else. Whats the catch? Are they powered by elastic band?

I dont know but my wife and I went at NewYear 2010 and flew directly into Helsinki. Other people came via Frakfurt or Oslo and were snowed in at those airports for 24 hours. Obviously will not happen if travelling in summer or autumn
I agree that Norwegian is likely to be the cheapest carrier. (Landing fees are a lot lower at Gatwick than at Heathrow, so that might partly account for why they're cheaper).

Customer reviews are here:

However, if Heathrow is a more convenient airport for you, you might want to check the fares with Blue 1. On some random dates I checked, in September, Norwegian were charging €117.70 (roughly £102.50), whereas Blue 1 were asking for £137.60. (Those fares are return, including taxes and charges). But there might be some dates where Blue 1 has the cheaper fares:

My sis has just flown them and they were fine, despite some security hassles as they flew the afternoon of the Oslo tragedy and when nobody knew at that point as whether it was Al Qaeda.
I flew from Edinburgh to Copenhagen with Norwegian Air and would certainly fly with them again

Thanks folks, they seem to be the best best. Gatwick is easier than Heathrow. On that note, going to Malta in October, and got the flight itinerary confirmation through. I only just noticed the time of the departure had changed which was several hours earlier and not convenient. When I checked closely, they had changed to departure airport from Gatwick to Heathrow, but the return was still to Gatwick! No way could we make that so they have now put us on a flight the next day. Had the time not been so different I probably wouldn't have noticed the change of airport - we'd have been sitting at Gatwick waiting for a plane that left Healthrow several hours earlier!

We have flown with Blue1 before and they were very good.
Well spotted lankeela. I probably wouldn't have noticed!
