Where are the best parts of Goa to visit if you are looking for a central located beach resort?

Depends what you like. If you like plenty of space and limited night life, but lots of beach shacks selling food and drink, then you should head for South Goa. If you want lots of people and busy night life then you should try the North, either way you will have a wonderful time. We are going back in November for a fifth time.
