Done that murraymints, no luck. Apparently you have to buy a guide and it is too late in the week for that as I want to go tomorrow. This is their website which is a bit confusing and not easy to find anything (probably cos I havent paid !)

what tight miserable gits down there...up here the venues are also published in the edinburgh evening news for couple of nights beforehand..maybe you have a similar local paper??
From yesterday's Surrey Comet:

the guide is available free from your local library!

That's if you're in London. Outside London the Open House days are a week earlier (ie last weekend).

In London, go to this page

http://www.londonopen...g/public/london/find/

and click on the borough you want.
that was last week's, Mosaic.

If you find one place that's open and go there, you may find them dishing out more free guidebooks. But if your library is open tonight or tomorrow, start there; they may have some left.

The guides are free every year and available from libraries from mid-August or thereabouts. If you order and pay for them online you get a head start on other people who want to book for popular venues (most sites don't need booking at all but a few do); but that's the only advantage to buying one.
The Open House Weekend is always this time of the year .Ours was last week to tie in with our Maritme Festival so it pays to look them up in advance .Our library and local heritage site always has the info out on line at around the middle of August .
Keep in mind for next year :)
