does anyone know a really good book which teaches you basic french in an easy to learn way? I am thinking of going to France and want to learn quickly before I go. (Idiot's guide type book!)

I know it's not a book but the BBC have excellent on-line learning programs. http://www.bbc.co.uk/languages/french/index.shtml
