I have a friend who lives in Colorado and am thinking of taking a trip to see him some time next year. Can anyone advise if there is a cheaper time of year in terms of flights from any London airport?

Also what's it like price wise out there? I would probably go for two weeks but of course have the luxury of not forking out for a hotel. I'm just trying to build an idea of how much I would need to save.

obviously avoid schools on both sides of the atlantic and public holidays.

but also late night/early flights are usually cheaper. why not click a few dates on expedia and compare?

and have a lovely time!
Things in america are in general cheaper, in some cases much cheaper, than here.

Go onto Amazon.com (not .co.uk) or JC penny to look.

However its not really a good idea to bu any form of electrical goods.
petrol's cheaper. Eating out's cheaper (though not as much cheaper as it used to be). Books and cinemas are cheaper. Not sure about flights: people go there to ski, so there's not really a low season.
I would imagine the flights would be more expensive during the skiing season. School holidays probably wouldn`t come into it. I don`t think there are many direct flights from the UK to Denver so that route could be quite expensive. If you have a choice of a stopover in Denver I wouldn`t bother because there isn`t much there (OK, it`s a dump) If you`re staying with people you could get away with not spending too much. Food`s not cheap these days. Shopping not too bad though.
Do go to Mesa Verdi National Park and see the Puebloan cliff dwellings. Amazing.

Thanks for all the answers!

It at least seems like I won't need to take a fortune of spending money.

I'll have to check with my friend which is the best airport to fly to as I'm a bit confused by it all. Just looking at a map I realised he lives only a few miles away from Columbine.
Denver's the main entry point, and it sounds as if that's where you're headed anyway.
