Am I going mad!! Just looked at prices for the above journey for 17th Dec - and the best price I can see is £36 each way!!! Surely not?? HELP!!

the prices seem to be coming up cheaper than that you have been quoted, various prices at various times.

If you book now you might be able to get a cheaper ticket than if you buy on the day, but I think some of those deals are a minimum of a month in advance.

Brum - Oxford - £10 or £12 single tickets on almost every train. Same coming back

Not sure what you were looking at - there isn't a £36 fare.

Unless there are 3 of you - that would be £36 total??

Nope - the day before, as long as they haven't sold out. They don't always

Still available on Monday, for example, though on fewer trains

Just looked at the Trainline myself and it's showing £12 each way. But the times you put in will make a difference.
