jno. Scotland would be in a different circle to England and Wales as it has its own legal system, education system and church.

Fair-Stumped, thanks, that makes sense, as far as anything in this area does. I suppose you could also have smaller circles denoting different parliaments/assemblies.
The union flag (the jack) comprises the flags of England Ireland and Scotland
the Welsh nation are not on the flag,they have their own the Welsh Dragon.

Supapa, this comes from Wikipedia:

"Wales had no explicit recognition in the Union Flag as it had been a part of the Kingdom of England since being annexed by Edward I of England in 1282 and its full integration by the Laws in Wales Acts 1535–1542, and was therefore represented by the flag of England."

I'm half Welsh myself, but it is a fact that Wales is still part of GB and the UK, although they have their own flag.
