Could somebody let me know if it is possible to take trolleys all the way from baggage reclaim at Manchester Airport (Terminal 2) right onto the platform at the train station?

Yes but it's contorted, involving lifts and ramps.

We arrived at T2 Manchester 7.30 am yesterday morning and there was not a trolley to be found.

Oops! I am enquiring on behalf of a family with two small children who will be arriving from Philadelphia in February. They will have luggage plus two car seats and will require two trolleys. If there are none available, they'll just have to find someone who can go and get some while waiting for the luggage to arrive.
