We go to Eire every year and hire a car at Cork. So we know the area, from Kinsale up to Dingle/Shannon. Can someone tell me of some pretty little 'unknown' villages that we can visit, preferably to stay in with a couple of pubs and a nice restaurant, rather than the usual tourist route ? Many thanks all ! I have ordered the sunshine ...

A lovely village I stayed in a few years ago was Doolin. There are tourists but not as many as on the Ring of Kerry or the Dingle peninsula. There are good pubs with live music every night (locals group up together). it's got a mysterious feeling to it; well worth the visit.
