The beach is not the best ever, but it's OK and there are watersports available - there's a water-park too. There's a huge supermarket on the front if you need essentials and (unfortunately) even a McDonalds!
If you fancy a little exercise, you can walk up to the castle above the covered market by the sea - not big or exotic, but a change from the beach. If you feel adventurous, you could take the ferry across to Rhodes one day.
It will be very hot at that time, so please make sure you use plenty of sunscreen and drink loads of water. Try to keep out of the sun at lunchtime, there's plenty of hours left to sun-worship.
Turkey is not as cheap as it was several years ago, but it isn't madly expensive for food and drink. Shopping is up to you! Although Turkish people are fundamentally honest with possesions, Marmaris is a tourist town and so there are some dubious people around (as with any large town) - so just be aware and take normal precautions with money and valuables.
Other than that - I'm sure you'll love it!
you'll love it mate! it's fab for people of your age. i highly recommend taking one of the day boat trips - approx �5. you get a full day of cruising around the bays and swimming/diving off the boat. BBQ lunch provided too. Nice!
Make sure you do some bartering with the locals, just watch out tho, they are very very keen to get you in their shops!
have fun! make sure you watch your skin tho - it WILL be very very hot!
