Barcelona
After finding out the other day that my other half would like to visit barcelona I thought I would take him there for a long weekend in july but I need help....by my own admission I am sooo fussy when it comes to booking hotels. Can anyone suggest a nice hotel to stay prefereably as close to the centre as possible. I would like it to be as romantic as possible as have never had the chance to take him away as a suprise before. I don't mind paying that bit extra for somewhere extra special either, basically just want somewhere totally wonderful, not asking to much am I !!!! Also where can I find the best priced flights.
Thanks in advance for the help.

Don't forget it's VERY hot in Barcelona in July, also the Spaniards don't eat until late(like 10pm onwards!)

For cheap flights, they also do Hotels too!
I've stayed in the Tryp Apollo which is about half way in between the Ramblas and the Olympic park, both walkable if you fancy it, but it's also right next to a metro stop which is the best way to get around. It cost us about 80 a night but it's a very modern, clean and firendly place (with aircon) so good value in my opinion.
I've also stayed in the Crystal Palace which is about 5 mins north of the Place Catalunya - about the same price and a nice place too.
Some friends have stayed in a hotel in the Place Catalunya, but they were a little critical of how noisy it was in the early hours!
