Could you please recommend a good B&B in Whitby, preferably fairly central and with parking? It's just for one night we live pretty local but just fancy a mid week break.

in my experience people dont usually know about b and bs in their home towns :)
Oi bednobs - lots of my friends have B&B's!

Polly, the problem is going to be that many B&B's have a minimum 2 night stay rule although some may relax the rule mid week.
This one is 2 mins walk into town and has a car park. I've had my overflow visitors stay here. If you have no joy, let me know and I'll recommend some more

Thanks mrs o,it looks perfect except that it's continental breakfast, and the OH loves his full English, well so do I actually.
< for some reason the phrase 'overflow visitors' has just reduced me to helpless giggles >
B&Bs should provide a full English (Or Scotch, or Welsh) breakfast by law - otherwise it's just a B.
It's the only time I eat a cooked breakfast.
Mrs O, you should tell them that their (that) site is really difficult to read
Question Author
I didn't find it difficult to read.
Nightmare to read.
Polly, I can recommend other B&B's that do the full English breakast but they only have street parking.
This one prides itself on its breakfasts (apart from poached eggs, she hates cooking them lol)

Cheers mrs o,I have sent them an email re single night stay.We were due to go to Scotland last week for a few days but my mum had a slight stroke two days before. This will be a nice little break, can you believe I have never been to Runswick or Staithes and we only live about 30miles away!
Hi again Polly. I hope you get sorted. If they wont accept one night, let me know and I'll make some phone calls and find you someone who will.
There is nothing much to see at Runswick and half of Staithes is a council estate (I'm not a snob, honest!). If you have never been, I'd recommend a visit to Robin Hoods Bay. I took some American friends recently and one of their comments was " How can somewhere be as pretty as this?"
Let me know how you get on.

I'm glad you are sorted. Gary & Lynne are a lovely couple and their B&B is spotless. As I mentioned earlier, their breakfasts are also great.
I hope you have a great time.
Blimey, I will never look at an alarm clock in the same way again!
