South America

Has anyone travelled South America, ideally as a backpacker ? I am looking for suggestions on what to see here, apart from the obvious places like Rio, Buenos Aires, etc.

worth seeing if you're around... Cuzco and Macchu Pichu (Peru), the Amazon (perhaps at Manaus or Iquitos, or take a boat some of the way), Lake Titicaca (Bolivia/Peru), the Iguacu falls (Argentine/Brazil), Cartagena (Colombia), the pampas (Arg), the Andes (Chile)... it's a very big place, Patagonia to Curacao.
