Can anyone recomend a good olde worlde pub in Padstow Cornwall that we can stay in on a b&b basis? Oak beams, log fires that sort of thing, or maybe somewhere else in Cornwall that fits that criteria. Thanks.

Padstow is lovely but it is a pig to park there. When I went for an interview I stayed at one of Rick Stein's places (I wasn't paying) but it wasn't an olde worlde place. Have you had a look on Trip Advisor?
Is this a weekend with ttfn, if it is you want a 5 star hotel
DT's yer man to answer this one, moony mmmmm ttfn.
The Plume of Feathers, Mitchell - about 30 mins from Padstow (just off the A30)

Things have become cheaper as we move off season down here.

If you want cheaper, but a very good welcome and solid pub food, 5 miles further on is the Hawkins Arms at Zelah (see you there). £45-50 for a room and breakfast). http://www.thehawkinsarms.co.uk/
Shave, shower and spray
I do have some others - but less sure on them - Padstow I would give a wide berth from as its London prices because of Stein City - all depends on your budget as well. Newquay - a very wide berth too, it's awful.
Not B&B but we dined at the Hotel Metropole in Padstow in the Summer. It was VERY good.
ANd yes, Newquay is shocking. Although we did find a rather good pub which did good food overlooking the cliffs. Of course I can't remember what it was called since I was a bit pie eyed by then.
The Lewinnick - sister to the Plume of Feathers, Barmaid? South side of Newquay beyond the Headland, right over the cliffs with glorious views north.

Thanks DT for the info i will give Padstow a miss and carry on looking, the Hawkins Arms looks interesting tho.

Sibo as you just seen from DT's replay I wont be able to take tt with me as the streets are not wide enough to get her wide load buggy down and there is only so far I can carry her on my back before my knees give way.

DT, what's wrong with the barmaid?
Can't remember DT. It was newly refurbed with a decked balcony outside with heaters (bliss). You could see towards the golf club. I was just pleased because it did nice food for adults and also catered for very fussy no 1 stepson.
It MIGHt have been on Tower Road, but not sure. I am fairly sure it was a white building.

The Lewinnick looks a bit to cosmo for me I like cozy with the odd mouse running around.
Come to the Harbour Bar in Portrush instead, moonie
