Health permitting, we are going to visit my brother is OZ in 2013, I have priced between 10 companies for a month, 4 days H.K. & 4 days on the return in H.K. with transfers Etc, price started at £3.700, after a lot of web searching down to £3100 with transfers / Oz visa, pick up from Lancs to Man A/port, Isn't it surprising what you can do by doing your homework
Nothing to do with me but why do an outbound stopover in HK and a return in HK? If you are travelling such a distance perhaps consider a different stopover for the return journey to get the most out of your trip.
What do you mean about HK island and Kowloon being 20mins apart? You are not suggesting that being separated by the Red Star Ferry makes HK Island and Kowloon to different stopovers are you????
Not at all Eccles, but I was or should I have said, we were looking at the prices. we could have stopped at a few other resorts eg/ Shanghai but decided otherwise, any tips? have you been?
My tip is to not spend your out and inward bound stopovers in HK. Eight days is quite a long time to investigate the islands and inland territories. There must be a stopover you haven't done, or one that you'd like to revisit that won't add to the price.
Its already been sorted & paid for Eccles, should we decide to go on a tour we can do that from the Hotel or I will again search, I wanted to see the terracotta Warriors but we will have to see into that but there is extra cost with the visa £80+ we are not rich by any means but as said, the main purpose of the trip is my brother.
Don`t bother with KL either. Nothing going for it. Singapore is the way to go back from the Far East. Don`t bother with Bangkok either (unless you want to buy lots of counterfeit goods and to go the River Kwai and the Tiger Temple.
Is'nt life strange Wharton, I remember my brother going out many years ago, 40+ now when I speak to him he wants to be home, his wife is from York & would not return to the UK due to the weather.
TWR - Shanghai is really, really overrated. Beijing`s got so much more going for it. I have never seen the sun in Shanghai. OK, it looks good at night when it is all lit up and the Bund is OK (and the magnetic train) but it`s a polluted nonentity. I wouldn`t bother if I were you.
We stopped at K.L. 237SJ but it was only for 3 days, it was very hot my mother was with us 80years at that time, she was hard work with respect to her, she would not take advise regards her clothes etc, we also stopped at Panang that was only for 3 days.
