Non Abta Member
I have booked a hotel only via Thomas Cooks web site. On looking at the confirmation voucher, the company Hotels4u are part of the Thomas Cook group but are not ABTA members. Is this common. I guess if Hotels4u go t*ts up I cant get compensation and Thomas Cook will get a lot of flak, which they dont need at the moment.

For all bookings your contract will be with the principal of the arrangements concerned. The principals’ booking conditions will apply to your contract."
So, for example, if the hotel is half-built, over-booked, over-run by rats, and lacking all of the facilities you expected, you can only pursue the hotel operator for compensation, not Hotels4U.
