Peri you are right. If it is charter holidays you are looking for then very few resorts cater for couple and 3 kids. Most hotels cater for 4 occupancy when it comes to families. If you are brave enough to look for accomodation yourself then it will be an uphill task, you will have to look for self catering apartments. The upshot of it all is that most travel agents/charter holiday companies will require you to buy a separate room for the child or 2 children and that will raise the costs tremendously. You also do not have the luxury of waiting till the end for booking family holidays such as these. There are very few places that will accomodate 5 and they will be gone 12 months in advance. The one other way to sort your problem is to travel with another couple who can take one of your children as part of their booking (atleast on paper, the child does not have to really sleep in their bedroom when you get there). It is slightly dishonest in my opinion but i have seen families do that as the saving is tremendous.

Thanks Dom Tuk.  We will be away in November so we are just looking to go to England possibly maybe near Alton Towers for a few days or Lake District or Liverpool.  Even hotels dont have rooms for 5 any more.
Have you thought of a caravan?  When my children were small (3 boys) we had several holidays in a caravan in various places in the UK.  The price was for the van not the number of people in it.  Most caravans sleep at least 4 with an extra bed that can be made up in the 'sitting' area.  Always enjoyed ourselves - even if it did rain.....

Have you heard of Centerparcs? http://www.centerparcs.co.uk/landing_home.jsp

You could try and rent a cottage. Several websites on the net.

How about a tent? Go where you like and do your own thing. You may be able to borrow one from someone if you are lucky.

If you really want a hotel then log on to the local tourist info dept for the relevant area. They may even book for you if you are lucky>

Have a good time.

Try this site for last minute deals anywhere.  Just fill in your requirements and take your pick.  They cover any type of accommodation in spite of thei name.
Click here and good luck.
