I haven't encountered escentual.com before but they don't exactly sound like a dedicated polling agency. More like a perfume shop that asks customers "Ever had anything confiscated?" Find out how much these, oh, say, 17 customers have lost, multiply it to produce a figure representing the entire country, and Bob's your uncle. Then you just hand out the results of your "survey" to the newspapers and wait for them to reprint your press release, thus getting your name in the news.

And as you say, their customers must be pretty dim.
