London/phantom Of The Opera
8 Answers
Mrs Heep has decreed that an expedition (4 people) is to be mounted in October to go and see Phantom of the Opera and various bits of the capital. She is currently looking at the possibility of going self catering ideally somewhere to the north of London and travelling in by train. Any ideas of suitable areas for her to begin looking? Any other helpful ideas also welcome.

Expect to pay about £60 per room per night, but I'm not sure about parking. Pleanty of others around and many do have car parks.
Short stay Self catering is quite rare in London, but I have stayed at one in the centre and paid £130 for a room. It was a Citadenes hotel/apartment near Trafalgar Square. No parking there though.

Thank you everybody.
Mrs Heep has decided to go self catering for a week which for apartments that sleep between 4 and 6 range from £700 to £900+. I have to agree with her that for that length of time self catering beats hotels. The only draw back is that by staying a week there will be more time for the dreaded shops. Now looking at a family rail card and doing all the travelling by train.

We stayed at a lovely hotel in St Albans (20miles north of London) and travelled iin on a travelcard everyday, leaving our car t the hotel. It was only 10mins walk to the station.
