Family Info To Visa Interview?
25 Answers
Hi all, just a quick question. I need to arrange an interview at the us embassy in London to get a visa for me for a family holiday to florida next year. Do I need to take any information about my family with me to the interview, I have all the other stuff that I need but I was just reading somewhere and it said I have to take stuff about the family that's coming with me? I thought it's just stuff about me I need to take?
Thanks in advance.
Thanks in advance.

Are you sure you need a visa - you couldn't just apply online for an esta?

No disrespect but there is no way on here that people on here can say whether or not someone is going to be granted a visa and maybe it`s best left to the US embassy to decide. As far as info is concerned, there is a list on the website as to what you have to take with you. I`m going up there myself the week after next - deep joy. Don`t forget you can`t take anything electronic in with you and that includes mobiles and electronic car keys.
I'm not overly optimistic about getting but I have to atleast try as I've bought my flights. About my esta, when I first applied I thought that I didn't have to declare it as it's now spent, but then realised later on (after booking my flights) that the us want to know about every conviction even if spent, so I emailed esta and explained why I had done and should I do a new one for when I apply for the visa or should I leave it and explain in the visa interview, they said to apply for a new esta with changing my answer, and then that one will be linked to my passport, then I would need to apply for a visa though the embassy. So I've re done another esta form with a not authorised for travel, and then I will explain what's happened when I have my interview. I also emailed the embassy asking I could apply explaining everything, I was expecting a point blank NO, but was told that it would be up to the consular agent on the day to decide, if they say no ten I can apply for a waiver of ineligibility. If I then have a no, then as long as I've tried, I would rather no that I've tried, rarer than just wondering what if. I'm just wondering do I need to take anything with me about my family to the visa interview. It doesn't say anything on the embassy website about information on the documents regarding family.
My case is different because I`m not going for a tourist visa but 2 other types of visa and I have already applied on line. My appointment is virtually a formality and for them to take my passport and put the visas in but this is what I`ve got -
// The following documents are required for all visa types:
Current passport valid for travel to the United Stats. The passport must be valid for at least six months beyond the period of stay (unless exempt by country-specific agreements).
All previous passports, especially those that show any international trips or previously issued visas to the United States.
Nonimmigrant Visa Application, Form DS-160 confirmation page
Appointment confirmation page printed from this website
one 2" x 2" color photo taken within the last 6 months
Accompanying family members, unless entering the United States for another purpose, should present and original marriage certificate (spouse) and/or birth certification (for unmarried children under 21), as applicable.
I presume you are just going to find out what you need to apply for so I`m not sure you need all that at this stage. As I said, I`m not going for a tourist visa but I do know that you apply online and all the other bumpf that is mentioned above is the next stage.

Is this just for people who are moving to America with family, or does this apply on a B2 visa application?
